With spectacular panoramic views of the whole city, the Butte Montmartre
dominates Paris from some 400 feet above with the Sacré-Coeur basilica at
its top. Everywhere tiny exquisite squares, winding streets, small terraces
& long stairways, as well as the Butte's famous vineyard make this district
one of the most visited areas of the Capital.
A short walk away from the Sacré Coeur lies one of Paris'most picturesque
squares, the Place des Abbesses with its original Art Nouveau metro station.
The Abbesses district is becoming ever trendier with its numerous
restaurants, bars, sidewalk cafés & terraces; yet the air of old Paris still
lingers for the enthusiast.
Just 5 minutes away lies the Pigalle area with
its famous cabaret shows such as the world renowned Moulin Rouge which
features the Can-Can dancers. There is an electric heater. The closest Metro station is Abbesses (line 12). |
